About Illinois Library Systems

Illinois multitype Library Systems are membership-based, regional organizations consisting of academic, public, school, and special libraries. Illinois is served by nine multitype Library Systems, each providing services to participating libraries in its region. Statewide, over 2,200 libraries of all types and sizes are members of multitype Library Systems.

This Web site shares the exciting collaborative services and programs of multitype Library Systems in Illinois.

Our Mission: Illinois Library Systems are catalysts for individual and collective excellence for all Illinois libraries.

Our Vision: Illinois Library Systems envisions a future where collaboration between libraries, organizations, and the people of Illinois results in easy access to information anytime, anywhere.

Funding for Illinois multitype Library Systems is provided through the Illinois State Library and the Secretary of State with funds appropriated by the Illinois General Assembly.
